Custom Seating Solutions:

Vision is committed to ensuring that every Vision product is designed to Make a Difference and may be customized to meet users’ varying and unique needs. To ensure that products are customized to the greatest benefit of the client, Vision will attend assessments, at no charge, when requested to help develop an innovative solution for a user. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions and/or requests for custom solutions, be it custom shape or size.

All products’ sizes, contours, and material selection may be modified to ensure a perfect fit and are designed to meet the same quality requirements and warranty guarantees.

Custom VerySOFT cushion

Vision was commissioned to design a pressure reducing cushion that would accommodate a user with paraplegia and very tight leg tone.

  • Pummel was required to be 4” high
  • Custom Size: 13” x 15”

Custom VerySOFT cushion

Vision was requested to design a cushion that would address a leg length discrepancy and a pelvic obliquity.

To Support the Pelvic Obliquity:

  • The base cushion was adapted to ensure the cushion could support the weight of the user for the 2½ years it’s warrantied against bottoming out
    • Left: 17″ deep
    • Right: 16″ deep

  • The cushion was made with different foam densities to ensure proper support
    • Left: Soft Memory Foam
    • Right: Firm Memory Foam

  • The rear left corner of the cushion was raised with an additional layer of memory foam so that contact was made between the user and the cushion

To Support the Leg Length Discrepancy:

  • The cushion was made with different depths to mimic the user’s leg lengths
    • Left: 17″ deep
    • Right: 16″ deep

To Provide appropriate pressure relief:

  • Memory foam covered the full cushion to ensure significant and effective pressure redistribution

Custom VerySOFT’R cushion

Vision was asked to assist in the assessment of a custom VerySOFT’R cushion for the Assistive Technology Clinic, Toronto, Ontario.

  • Cushion composition was adapted to accommodate an air insert at the rear of the cushion
  • Leg troughs were customized to accommodate leg length discrepancy and a pelvic obliquity

Custom VerySOFT cushion

Vision was asked to assist in the assessment of a custom VerySOFT cushion in Mississauga, Ontario.

  • The cushion was created to the users’ specifications:
    • 4” thick
    • No contouring
    • Firm feeling, while providing significant pressure relief
    • Custom size, 22 x 20

Custom Leg Channel Cushion

Vision was asked to create a custom seating solution that would both aid in correcting and supporting the user’s leg positioning.

  • A customized combination of foams was used in the design of a cushion with pronounced leg troughs.
  • The cushion was designed to be an attachment to an air cushion at the rear of the seat.
  • The cushion helped direct the users’ legs forward and provided excellent positioning support.

Custom VerySOFT cushion

Vision was asked to design a custom sized VerySOFT cushion for St. John’s, Newfoundland.

  • Custom Size, 32” x 22”
  • Cushion composition was adapted to accommodate users’ weight of 350lb

Custom V.G. Arm Trough

Vision was asked to assist in the assessment and design of a custom Arm Trough in Hamilton, Ontario.

  • The Arm Trough needed to secure the user’s arm, which she had a tendency of lifting out of her existing arm trough and was unable to return to the appropriate position.
  • Vision custom designed the arm trough to:
    • Accommodate the user’s arm width by creating a wider than standard arm trough
    • Have 2 adjustable and elasticized straps to secure the arm
    • Have a raised internal trough lip that would aid in repositioning the user’s arm (allowing the arm to slide into the correct position when the user raised her arm out of position)
    • Flip away, allowing the client to transfer in and out of her wheelchair without removal of the arm trough, and allowing her wheelchair to fit under her dining table for meals

Custom VISCOUNT Back Support

Vision was commissioned to design a pressure reducing VISCOUNT back support that would accommodate a user with:

  • Severe Scoliosis
  • Paraplegia
  • Tight tone in arms and legs

Custom VISCOUNT Back Support

Vision was asked to assist in the assessment and development of a custom design VISCOUNT Back Support in Barrie, Ontario.

  • The back support needed to accommodate a client with severe rheumatoid arthritis that required significant pressure relief, while considering that:
    • The client measured at 13.5” wide, but back needed to mount onto an 18” wide wheelchair
    • The back needed to provide pressure relief for the back and right side, extending to the knees
    • The back support needed to have lumbar, lateral and pelvic support

Custom VIRTUOSO Back Support

Vision was asked to assist in the assessment and development of a custom VIRTUOSO Back Support.

  • This back support incorporated both lower lateral support for the hips and upper lateral support for the shoulders.
  • As demonstrated in the image multiple layers of foam were used to create a custom fit that accommodated all protrusions. Additionally, different foams were used to a best support the user’s varying needs.
